NXL Midwest Open 2026: Impact Strikes Back in Ohio

The 2026 NXL season delivered another major weekend of professional paintball as the NXL Midwest Open brought the action back to Ohio from June 25–28.

As the third major stop of the NXL U.S. season, the Midwest Open was another important test for the world's top professional teams—and another reminder of just how competitive the 2026 season is becoming.

At the end of the weekend, Edmonton Impact stood at the top of the Pro X-Ball rankings, taking maximum points and a huge result in the race for the 2026 season title.

Edmonton Impact Takes the Top Spot

Impact came into the Midwest Open as one of the teams everyone expected to challenge for the title, and they delivered.

Their performance in Ohio earned them first place in the Pro X-Ball standings, ahead of Seattle Uprising in second and TonTon Arsenal in third.

The result puts Impact firmly back in the spotlight as the 2026 season moves into its second half.

But perhaps one of the biggest stories of the weekend was the strength of the teams chasing them.

Seattle Uprising's second-place finish was a major statement, while TonTon Arsenal continued to show that they belong among the teams capable of competing at the highest level of professional paintball.

The Pro Field Is Getting Deeper

Behind the podium, the Midwest Open results showed just how difficult the current NXL Pro division has become.

Red Legion finished fourth, followed by San Diego Dynasty in fifth and Tampa Bay Damage in sixth.

Further down the rankings were some of the biggest names in the game, including San Antonio X-Factor, PaintballFIT, Houston Heat, Chicago Aftershock and Detroit Infamous.

There are simply no easy matches anymore.

A single bad point, a penalty at the wrong moment or one missed opportunity can completely change a team's weekend.

That level of competition is exactly what makes the current NXL season so interesting to follow.

A Season That Is Far From Decided

The Midwest Open also added another layer to what is becoming a fascinating 2026 NXL season.

With different teams showing strength from event to event, consistency will be critical as the season moves toward its final stages.
